Timings

The school day starts at 8.50am (pupils can attend Breakfast club from 8am) and Y1 enter school through the bottom door near the car park. The school day finishes at 3.20pm and pupils leave the school through the same door that they enter. 

Uniform

Y1 pupils have the option of wearing a school uniform.  Please label all items of clothing.  No jewellery should be worn, except small studs. Sensible shoes are needed for the school day - no crocs or heels. 

Homework

A homework menu is given out at the start of each term, with suggested tasks for pupils to complete with parents. Pupils can bring completed homework in tasks into school, or parents can send images to teachers via Class Dojo. Pupils are rewarded for completing homework tasks with Dojo points. Although homework is not compulsory, this is a great opportunity to prepare pupils for secondary school. 

Reading books

Pupils read regularly during the school day and read with class teachers throughout the week. Pupils' Reading Folders are sent home every Friday and must be returned by the following Wednesday.  

PE

PE for both Y1 classes takes place on a Wednesday. Pupils should ensure they wear clothing to school that is suitable for PE - comfortable clothing and trainers. Pupils should bring in a water bottle.
