Celebrating ME ME ME!blush

Autumn term is always a busy one for us, as we welcome Nursery children back to school and also we settle in lots of new starters to our class.

Mrs Gadd and the Nursery team have worked so hard to develop our classroom into a magical area for children to explore, learn, develop and most of all.... PLAY!

Here at Townhill Community School we are proud practitioners of the Foundation Phase and believe with passion that children learn best through experimentation and exploration, independent learning and adult directed tasks, through challenge, play and meaningful experiences!

Our Nursery classroom demonstrates our strong commitment to our values, with carefully planned areas of continuous provision- including sand and water, mark-making, creative, mathematics, role-play, building, small world, fine-motor skill and investigation areas to name just a few!

We are also so proud of our outdoor space which we use daily rain or shine!

We pride ourselves on how we nurture children in our Nursery, we want our children to be HAPPY! Happy and content children want to learn, and we are devoted to the children in our care day in and day out.

We operate an "open door policy" in Nursery, whilst also respecting the school's safeguarding and health and safety procedures. That said, the door is always open for you to discuss challenges, successes, concerns or just to offload- we are all ears for you.

During the Autumn Term our main focus is placed upon children's personal and social development as well as their well-being ALWAYS! They will learn about themselves, who they are and what they like and dislike. They will learn about friendships and family. Children will engage in story as a stimuli to drive their curiosity and learning. Children will make choices and the adults will listen carefully and guide their learning to make it meaningful. Autumn Term is always a busy one, we celebrate Halloween and at Christmas we hold our very own concert.

Most importantly children will PLAY and it's our job to sneak the learning in whilst they're at it!
